The basketball court— is a site for playing basketball, which is a rectangular flat hard surface without any obstacles.
The size of the playing area shall be 28 meters long and 15 meters wide from the inner edge of the bounding lines for official FIBA competitions. Existing playgrounds shall have a minimum size of 28x15 meters for all other competitions.
The height of the ceiling or the distance to the lowest obstacle above the playground shall be at least 7 meters.
The playing surface shall be evenly and sufficiently illuminated. Light sources shall be located where they will not interfere with the players' vision.
